Norrköping Airport (Kungsängen) was opened on 9 September 1934 and is one of the oldest civilian airports still in operation in Sweden.
Since 1 January 2008 the Airport is run by Norrköping municipality. Services available at this Airport are scheduled flights to Copenhagen, Munich, Helsinki and during the summer months also to Visby on the island of Gotland. There are also scheduled cargo services to New York. Besides a wide variety of charter flights, the Airport has also taxi, business and ambulance flights.

There is also an active flying school as well as other club operations at the Airport which include motor, ultra-light and gliding.
In the vicinity of the Airport are a number of companies associated with aviation, such as an aero technical workshop, cargo agents and an aircraft paint spray operation.

The existing tower was opened in 1993 and is manned by 6 air traffic controllers who provide air traffic services and during the periods when the Östgöta Control Centre is closed, they also provide approach services within the sub sector Norrköping.
